Experts are experts and guidance is guidance. You get expertise through experience only. Only people who are experienced can tell what can work and what can’t.

We all know Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray as a fiery leader. But you will wonder to know that once he advised his grandson to take advise / learning from rival camp as well. Aditya Thackeray, grandson of Bal Thackeray shared this story while an interview with Rediff.

My grandfather’s style is unique and that works really well. I speak to him on various issues every day.

Once when I was going to meet Mamata didi (Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee) he told me, “You must tell Mamata that whatever the politics, I hope that you will guide me in future.”

“Not many leaders will ask people to take guidance from the rival camp. He also tells me to emulate their good points.”

Even if you look at Ramayana, Lord Rama asked his brother Lakshamna to take lessons from rival Ravana.
