Swami Vivekananda , the founder of Ramakrishna Mission and the Mutt was a key figure to introduce Hinduism and Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world.
He is known as the patriot saint of modern India who strove to promote peace and human brotherhood. During the British rule in India he became a spiritual leader for our country and guided us in our darkest times.
Lets look at one of incidents which throws light on his teachings
Once Swami Vivekananda was having a long trek in the Himalayas when on the way he saw an old man extremely exhausted and standing hopelessly at the foot of an upward slope.
The man was tired and frustrated and said to Swamiji that he cannot cross the mountains, he just cannot walk any more ,he chest will break.
Swamiji listened to the old man patiently and then replied to him that he needs to look at his feet. The road that is under his feet is the road that he has already passed over and it is the same road that he is seeing ahead of him and it will also soon be under his feet. These words gave confidence and encouraged the old man to resume his onward trek.
Swami Vivekananda would enlighten the ignorant and to the intelligent ones he would just throw some more light and make it clear to them thereby giving them confidence.
During hard times , we must wait and look inward and we will get the solution.
